Giftedness and talent : What do they mean?

Everyone has a personal strength, something we do better than we do other things. Each of us also has a personal weakness. The essence of  giftedness is advanced development. Student who are gifted have the potential to perform at level significantlly beyond what we expect for their age.
     Gagne defines giftedness as the possession of natural abilities or aptitudes at the level significantly beyond what might be expected for one's age, in any domain of human ability.Gagne suggests that at least 10%-15% at least three to four students in mixed ability class of 30 could be gifted in the intelle cctual domain. Another three or four could be physically gifted.The key of Gagne's view of giftedness is that it defines outstanding potential rather than outstanding performance.
     While giftedness equates  with high ability ability, talent equates with high achievement. Gagne defines talent as achievement or performance at a level significantly beyond what might be expected at given age.
